Lakes Community Cooperative is a local producer owned Ag and Energy Cooperative formed in 2023 with the merger of Lakes Area Cooperative of Perham and Community Co-ops of Lake Park.  Lakes Area Cooperative was Established in 1912 and Community Co-ops of Lake Park was established in 1907.  Both companies were originated by local farmers to serve their need for a local creamery for selling milk and purchasing supplies needed to run their farm operations in the early 1900’s.  Combined they have served patrons and communities for over 225 years.  Over the years as agriculture and needs changed in small rural communities both companies grew and added new services to continue to support agriculture and the small rural communities that Lakes Community Cooperative now serves.

Lakes Community Cooperative currently offers these services:  Refined Fuels, Propane, Convenience Stores, Hardware Stores, Country Stores, Auto Shops, Natural Gas, HVAC, Carwashes, Meat Locker, Feed, Motel, Fertilizer and Ag Chemicals. 

Lakes Community Cooperative serves the communities of Perham, Richville, Battle Lake, Vining, Clitheral, Henning, Vergas, Detroit Lakes, Underwood, New York Mills, Park Rapids, Akeley, Menahga, Sebeka, Wolf Lake, Bluffton, Ottertail, Clarissa, Twin Valley, Lake Park, Mahnomen, Detroit Lakes, Flom and many others in north central Minnesota. With locations in Perham, Akeley, Battle Lake, Clarissa, Vergas, Dent, Menahga, Park Rapids, Ottertail, Twin Valley, Mahnomen, Detroit Lakes, Lake Park, Flom, and Wolf Lake.
